1. A better battery backup.

Unlike power bricks that stay in the wall, or portable power packs that remain in your bag, the 2-in-1 Anker GaNPrime 733 Power Bank [$99.99; anker.com] goes everywhere. Plugged into the wall, it's a 65-watt charger that's likely faster than the adapter that came with your laptop, tablet, or phone, and it has one USB-A and two USB-C ports to power three devices simultaneously. Heading out? Pull the 733 out of the wall, fold up the prongs, and it's a TSA-friendly, 10,000-mAh battery that charges an iPhone 13 twice.

2. Shades that switch.

These smart sunglasses serve many senses. First, the lenses: Thanks to electrochromic technology and tucked-away batteries, the water-resistant Ampere Dusk smart sunglasses [$295; ampere.shop] can go from a slight tint to sun-blocking — with four selectable shade levels — at the press of a button or control of an app. The frames have speakers and microphones, so you can listen to a podcast, make calls, or summon Siri. You can also set an alarm, making lost glasses easier to find. Expect about four hours of music per charge, and up to a week if all you want to do is change the tint level.

3. A camera that can keep up.

Basic cameras are for basic Zoom calls. But if you're a presenter who's moving, the Insta360 Link [$299.99; insta360.com] can punch everything up. It keeps you in focus as you walk around and adjusts to clearly show anything you hold up to the camera. The "DeskView mode" focuses on your work surface, so any work you show is oriented correctly to viewers. You can even use gestures to control how the camera presents you. And when you're done, the camera pivots down automatically after 10 seconds to provide privacy.

4. Luggage with legs.

To get any serious work done at an airport, you really need a table — which can be hard to come by outside of a lounge. The Props 22-inch Hardcase Carry-On [$475; propsluggage.com] looks like a standard four-wheel bag, but with the release of a latch, you can swing down a pair of legs and turn the suitcase into an 18-by-13-inch work surface that sits 22 inches off the floor. Unlike most carry-ons, the Props has one zipper to access your clothing instead of the clamshell design, and works like a luggage rack in your hotel room where you're living out of the bag.

5. A second set of eyes.

It looks like a jumbo tablet, but this 1.5-pound LG 16-inch Gram +View [$349.99; lg.com] actually doubles the screen size of a standard laptop. Connect it through the included 5-foot-long USB-C cable, then place the LG on either side of your laptop. Your mouse will track across both. The generous 16:10 aspect ratio can show every row on a spreadsheet, or help you present a project to someone sitting nearby. While the display is just as bright and crisp as your laptop, this secondary screen is deceptively simple: no speakers and no touch screen — just plug in and play.
