Is your startup serving the purpose you wanted it to? Is your team motivating you enough to keep going? BIZ Experiences and investor Mahesh Murty answers such question in a short interaction with BIZ Experiences India.
Murty emphasizes on the importance of knowing the purpose behind your startup, which will then act as a guiding force. A business only with the purpose of earning money will only attract employees who'll work for money. His focus is on ethics and ability of people around, cutting the dead weight of the company and finding the purpose, as he says, "If you find a higher purpose, a deeper purpose or a purpose different from just making money, you will find that it'll guide you to find your purpose in life..."
When asked about the government's startup initiative, his approach is very pragmatic and his view skeptical. He says, "We've done really well without a startup policy. I'm not sure what good it'll do"
