In a session at Sharjah BIZ Experiencesship Festival 2018, Mona Ataya, founder and CEO of Mumzworld, an online retailer for mom and baby products in the Middle East, walked the audience through the main lessons she has learnt ever since co-founding Bayt.com, later on Mumzworld, to now taking Mumzworld to its new heights.
Recently, Ataya raised US$20 million in a Series B round of funding from an institutional investor, Gulf Islamic Investments.
In a chat with BIZ Experiences Middle East, Ataya shared more details about her personal and work philosophy which has led her to raise new funds at a time when investors have become hesitant to make any crucial investments, especially in startups.
Organized by Sharjah BIZ Experiencesship Center, Sheraa, the Sharjah BIZ Experiencesship Festival (SharjahEF) 2018 gathered more than 3,000 attendees consisting of youth, BIZ Experiencess, government partners, investors and industry veterans. The two-day event featured more than 100 prominent local, regional and international speakers.
